Sculpture Bangkok
Modern photo automats: childhood memories re-imagined
1-2-3-Snap. What better way to capture special moments than photo booths? They're spontaneous, unique, and fun.
Sculpture Bangkok is a Thai photo automat brand co-founded by Luksika Jiradarakul and Sarit Tailetwichen. This SME builds its unconventional photo booths by combining nostalgic experiences with high-quality photography equipment and innovative checkout flows.
Automated and cashless POS solution
Since its launch, Sculpture Bangkok has captivated Millenials and Gen Zs with a reminiscence of classic photo automats from their childhood, redesigned with new twists.
Before discovering Omise, the brand had explored several checkout methods, such as hiring ushers and adopting a ticketing system. However, cash payments can become bothersome as the customers are mainly cashless. And the ticketing platform, although convenient, can slow down transactions with the complicated checkout process, especially when the traffic peaks.
These bottlenecks had led to a considerable loss of sales opportunities and drop-offs. Thus, the brand's objective is to build an entirely online, self-service checkout flow to accommodate the digital generations.
Integrating online payment solutions into offline customer journeys
A digital payment option with real-time payment confirmation is required to enable customers to carry out every transaction independently.
To achieve that, we have worked closely together with their developer team to integrate Omise's payment gateway into the automats' operating software.
The result is a fully automated system where customers can scan a QR code on the photo booth screen and transfer money from their bank account via PromptPay, the most common online banking solution in Thailand.
Once the payment is verified, the backend system allows the customers to proceed and get their photos taken without the need for extra assistance.
The simplicity and flexibility of this checkout process lessens the duration of transactions and lets people access the service at any time. Moreover, the backend dashboard allows the business to track activities and traffic in detail for operational purposes.
Digital payment — opening doors for new businesses
In today's world, digital payment has been embodied into our lifestyle. It opens the gate for new business models like Sculpture Bangkok to emerge, not only limited to online commerce,
Sarit, the brand's co-founder, said. Omise's system is easy to operate, and the support team is also well-trained and helpful. With your help, we have successfully developed the solution we wanted. And we have been happy with the experience and the result.
