What is pre-authorization?
Last updated on September 10, 2019Card pre-authorization is commonly referred to as pre-auth
. You can think of it as a pre-approval process to ensure that the customer is using a valid credit card.
At checkout, once the customer enters their card information and clicks Pay
, the information entered including CVV is validated. This process is attempted with the bank by charging the card with a minimal fee (up to 1 THB) and if successful, the charge is voided.
